Oh, lamp of flowing shapes,
Forever in a state of flux.
Your entire life is change,
Never-ending, you live as such.
Others’ physical bodies,
Are whole unto their ends.
Yet yours is completely segmented,
As your warm water, upward it sends.
Constancy is your antagonist,
An aversion unwelcomed to stay.
For others, confusion would surely rule,
If they mimicked your fluidic way.
But in this style, you thrive,
Forming new shapes, creative and bold.
You are a mesmerizing enigma,
Hypnotizing all who dare to behold.
Unabated, your sinew rises,
Then falls for another go.
Each time different and un-repeating,
Unique as a flake of snow.
Then up again and down,
Then up again and down once more.
Never pausing, always new,
Birthed from your heated floor.
Yet your beauty conceals a flaw,
You aren’t as perfect as you wish.
In an instant, anyone can end you,
By simply turning off your switch.
